    Student, Birmingham
  • “I co-founded [a research group] investigating whether controlled exposure to cosmic radiation can enhance plant growth and yield in Mars-analogue environments… recruit 80+ student researchers from 6 countries.”

Also ran a high altitude balloon experiment exposing seeds to radiation, backed by government research funding.

    Imperial student
  • “Now serving over 13 million users and counting.”

what you get when you join.

  1. Meet founders, engineers and students working on what you're working on.

Students in the middle rows of a lecture hall at King's College London, listening to a talk.
  2. A hackathon with Anthropic. A robotics panel with Shadow Robot, ARIA and NextGenRI. An invite only Cambridge talk we took members into.

  3. Get hands on with live builds from founders in the community. Work you can point to.

Builders at laptops in a lecture theatre during the hackathon.
  4. Founders and roles that rarely reach a careers fair.

A drone with a robotic arm on a table, its builder behind it.
  5. Startup roles through Uncooked Jobs and our partners.

join now and shape what we build.

Founding members choose which rooms we run next and what we build after that. First up: a directory of who's building what, and a map of hardware spaces, beginning in the UK.

questions you probably have.

No. Hardware, robotics and deep tech are the focus, but startups need operators, designers and people who sell too. If you want to work on hard problems, you belong here.

No. When you apply, we look at what you've built or done and how serious you are about it, not your CV. Some members run companies. Some are looking for their first project.

If you want a line on your CV and nothing else. Labs works for people who build and show up.

Apply through the form and tell us what you're building. It's free.

No. It's free.

Get close to the people building them. Come to a Labs event, meet founders and show what you've built. When you're ready, Uncooked Jobs (opens in a new tab) lists live roles at VC backed startups.

Yes. We run hard tech events through the year, from robotics panels to hackathons. See what's coming up on our events page.

No. More than half our members live outside London, plus members across Europe and North America. Most rooms are in London for now, and we're taking them to more cities.

Labs gets you close to the people and the work. Uncooked Jobs (opens in a new tab) helps VC backed startups hire you on what you can prove.

the next room is better with you in it.

You don't need a startup, an elite university or a perfect CV. We read every application and add new members to the group chats in batches, so it can take a little time.
