privacy.

You're trusting us with your name and email. Here's what we do with them.

the short version

We use your details to run Labs: to review your application, reply to you and tell you about events. We never sell them. Leave Labs or ask us, and we delete them.

who we are

Uncooked Labs is run by its founder, Abdullah Mansuri, who decides how your details are used. Questions: hello[at]uncookedjobs[dot]com.

what we collect

  • When you apply (our application form runs on Tally): your name, email, phone number and what you tell us about your studies, your work and what you've built.
  • When you contact us: your name, email, organisation if you give one, and your message.
  • When you sign up to one of our events on Luma: Luma shares your name and email with us so we can run it.
  • When you're shown on our site: we show members, speakers and LinkedIn posts from people at our events, using what they've shared with us for that purpose or with their permission. If you're shown and want something changed or removed, email us and we'll act on it promptly.

what we don't collect

We don't ask for sensitive details, like your health, religion, ethnicity or political views, and we'd rather you didn't include them in forms. If you do, we only use them to deal with your message.

how we use it, and why we're allowed to

  • To review applications, reply to you and run events. This is in our legitimate interest, and it's what you asked us to do.
  • To email members. Some emails are part of being a member, like where the next room is. Event news is separate: unsubscribe from any email and we take you off the list.
  • When you apply, you agree to hear from us about your application, events and updates. Unsubscribe from any email and we take you off the list.

who else sees it

Applications come in through Tally, and messages from our contact form are delivered by Web3Forms. They handle your details only for us, under contract. Some of their systems sit outside the UK, protected by the safeguards UK law requires.

We don't share your details with sponsors or employers unless you ask us to. We'd only hand them to the authorities if the law required it.

keeping it safe

Only the people running Labs can see your details, and the services we use protect them with sign-in and encryption. No system is perfectly secure, so if something ever goes wrong that puts your details at risk, we'll tell you.

how long we keep it

For as long as you're part of Labs. If you leave, or ask us to delete your details, we remove them within 30 days.

If you've applied and we haven't added you yet, we keep your application so we can add you later. Ask, and we'll delete it.

If you only contacted us, we keep your message for as long as we need it to reply and follow up, and for 12 months at most.

analytics and logs

We don't use cookies or advertising trackers. Our web host keeps short technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running, and our headline font loads from Adobe Fonts.

your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your details, to limit or stop how we use them, or to send you a copy. Email hello[at]uncookedjobs[dot]com from the address you gave us and we'll reply within a month.

changes

If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page, and email members if it's a big change.

complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
