hard tech enthusiasts
We brought the robots, the builders, and the hardware to Muslim Tech Fest. One of the busiest corners in the room.
The session is done. The community is just getting started.
Thank you to everyone who came. See you at the next one.

headliner founders.
The people who showed up.

Hassan has been building robots since he was 12.
Hassan Shahzad
CEO, Elo · UCL
Now he's building Elo, a London based robotics startup aiming to make the UK's flagship autonomous humanoid by mid 2027.
Their first product, Elo Lite, is an affordable wheeled humanoid used to collect robot training data and deploy autonomous models. He brought Elo Lite to the table.

His bet: robotics is about to accelerate enormously, and he wants to make that future accessible to everyone.
Joe Clinton
CTO, Elo · UCL
Joe is a PhD candidate at UCL developing more efficient ways to train foundational robotics models for dexterous manipulation tasks.
He leads the technical vision behind Elo's humanoid programme.

Raihaan is building Bench, an AI engineering framework for designing high performance hardware, and the infrastructure to make it happen.
Raihaan Usman
Co-founder & CTO, Bench · Imperial College London
Bench is backed by EWOR.
He has spent close to a decade in AI, working on optimal control, reinforcement learning, and optimisation, before turning those methods on engineering design itself. Before Bench, he was deep in aerospace, leading vehicle teams at the Karman Space Programme and working as a software engineer at the European Space Agency, after studying Aerospace Engineering at Imperial.
His work now sits where AI meets hardware engineering, building the tools that help engineering teams actually ship.

Osman Zuhayr, founder of Invictus Robotics, has built the world's first drone with a fully articulated robotic arm.
Osman Zuhayr
Founder & CEO, Invictus Robotics · UCL
Osman has been a robotics engineer for 10 years, working on humanoids, drones, and space robotics across engineering and commercial roles.
In a world filled with spectacle-based robots, humanoids and dogs that are flashy but lack a practical business case, he founded Invictus Robotics on the belief that aerial manipulation is the ultimate robotic form factor and one of the most practical opportunities.

how we connected people on the day.
We did not leave the room to chance. Here is how we got the right people talking.
We designed the whole session around one thing: helping people meet who was worth meeting.
Most events leave that to chance. You show up, you hope, you hover near the snacks. We wanted something better.

the colours
The colour showed what each person was there for. Everyone could read the room in a glance.
Blue: working in the space, or happy to mentor
Yellow: curious and here to learn
Green: looking to work in the space
Pink: founder, building something of their own
No awkward openers. No guessing who to talk to. You walked straight up to the right people.

guide match
Blue meets Yellow
People who were curious met people already doing the work.

the ideas wall
There was a wall in the room. People wrote down something they were building, thinking about, or stuck on, then went to find the person who wrote the one next to theirs.
Some of the best conversations started with a sentence on a wall, not a handshake.
